Although Barry, the creator of Puppy Linux, does a superb job of the Official Releases, the community gets together every so often to pick a particualrly stable release of Puppy and create a community-contributed version. This often involves bug-fixes and usability imprtovements and even by Barry's reckoning are improvements on the original version.
The latest Community Edition is the succesful Puppy 2.15CE "Viz". Work is currently under way on a Community Edition based on Puppy 3.01, called "Talking Stick".
