This is for the blog of puppy creator Barry Kauler and is a good way of keeping in touch with the latest developments being worked on for an official release.
In case you don't use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) already here is a very quick explanation and a list of ways of using RSS known to work in Puppy. RSS is a very simple way of keeping abreast of news from many different places. Each feed contains a number of short articles that are updated regularly and contain links to full articles. You can set your reader to automatically download a feed at regular intervals and make you aware of any new items. Because your reader automatically checks for new articles you do not need to provide an email address and you can unsubscribe simply by changing the your settings or deleting the feed. For more info see www.rssday.org.
Below is a list of readers with instructions on how to use them. It would be good if someone added instructions for installing these in Puppy.
Prit, I think this is an excellent example of the power of rss nicely presented. I would like to see as many puppy sites as possible carrying the latest news feed. It would also be nice to crank up the volume of the feed a bit, we need more news.
For anyone involved in maintaining the manual I have also added another feed that displays recent manual changes. The link is in the first list on this page.
