To un-install, go to: Menu > Setup > Puppy Package Manager
For successful installation:
- Use any partition and formatting type {except FAT32 for PET files}
- Sufficient free R.A.M. is required
- Using PET files with Puppy full installations sufficient free drive/partition space (>=370MB) is required
- Using PET files with Puppy frugal installations, the following is required: sufficient free drive/partition space (>=370MB) outside the personal storage save file and sufficient free space (>=145MB for temporary files) inside an already existing personal storage save file is required (the save file may need to be resized larger). An installation is only retained after a save file has been created. In other words, an installation made before the existence of a save file will be lost when shutting down or re-booting. A save file is created during the procedure of re-booting or shutting down for the very first time following a new Puppy installation. If you do not have sufficient free space inside an already existing save file, and you do not wish to resize larger your save file, then the easiest way to proceed is to manually install the downloaded pet package using two commands, e.g.:
pet2tgz openoffice-3.2.1.9502_en-GB.pet
tar xfv openoffice-3.2.1.9502_en-GB.tar.gz
- Download a pet package file (>140MB) from the list above
- Verify the SHA-1 checksum (If the SHA-1 checksums do not match it means that the downloaded file is corrupt/incomplete so download it again)
- Left-button-mouse-click on it once for automatic installation
For those on dial-up Internet connection see the Appendix below.
