When installed available from: Menu > Internet > Opera
Default location of profile directory: /mnt/home/opera/program/profile
Always have two copies of the profile directory (minus the cache directory inside it), made at regular intervals, kept on separate media. You must do this before un-installing otherwise it will be deleted.
Un-install the old version prior to installing a new one: Menu > Setup > Puppy Package Manager
It is recommended to use the latest versions available of OpenSSL (required for https access), libcurl, cairo and Adobe Flash Player.
Installing this software into frugal Puppy installations
The main program directory, by default, installs to /mnt/home/ (which is outside any existing personal storage save file). This means that the installation of this software is only retained when a personal storage save file has already been created. A save file is created during the procedure of re-booting/shutting down for the very first time following a new, frugal Puppy installation. Download a .pet software package; after it has downloaded left-button-mouse-click on it for automatic installation.
Installing this software into full Puppy installations
No personal storage save files are involved. Download a .pet software package; after it has downloaded left-button-mouse-click on it for automatic installation.

Installing Opera via Automatic Installation- Either use a previously assembled .pet software package (given above) by downloading the file and then left-button-mouse-clicking on it
- or, run the Opera installer from within an extracted, pre-compiled Opera binary: download the desired binary, e.g. opera-10.52-6340.i386.linux.tar.bz2, extract the contents, and then run "install.sh" inside the extraction directory, which will install to pre-defined locations:
./install.sh
Installing Opera via Manual Installation
With this method the Opera directory can be installed to one's location of choice. Acquire this single directory by downloading, for example, the latest UNIX snapshot of Opera if available: http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/
Within the download directory extract (unpack) the downloaded file, for example:
tar xfjv opera-10.52-6340.i386.linux.tar.bz2
Enter extracted Opera directory:
cd opera-10.52-6340.i386.linux
And start the program with:
./opera &
