Hot Dawg! Puppy Linux 1.0.6 "Sizzler" is now available
The Live-CD CD Image (.ISO) files are 55.7 MB. The major item in this release is a complete version of AbiWord∞ 2.4.1. There is now another CD image that is optimized for reuse via multisession∞. Another big thing is that both ISOs now have support for multisession DVDs with even better support for multisession CDs. See the official release notes under 7 November 2005 on the developer's news page∞ for more on what's new. Don't forget to get the latest bugfixes for 1.0.6.
- Get and share via the popular P2P network, BitTorrent∞: standard torrent file∞ and multisession torrent∞. There are a good selection of P2P programs available for Puppy Linux.
- Download the standard ISO∞. Check the download integrity with the MD5 checksum file∞.
- Download the multisession ISO∞. Check the download integrity with the MD5 checksum file∞. Make sure to read the release notes∞ before burning the CD or DVD.
- There are many download mirrors for ibiblio∞ that you may also want to try. Select the mirror nearest you and click on the distributions directory then the puppylinux directory, then pick your ISO file and checksum file.
- usr_devx.sfs∞ to compile your own Puppy applications
- Downloader∞ for Puppy Unleashed as one option for Remaster
Puppy Linux 1.0.5 is the previous stable version with a standard release and a larger Chubby Puppy version. Chubby Puppy includes the OpenOffice.org office suite.
Puppy Linux 1.0.7 is the upcoming version, currently under in beta.
